Unlike the original design it is at a comfortable sitting height (about 20" above the ground).
Construction: The bench as photographed is made of hard maple or black walnut with no screws. Wood slats are the entire length of the bench with meticulous finger joints for strength at both ends of the bench. If you expect heavy usages of multiple people I will add a second brace (similar to the single middle brace currently in the photo) and space them evenly, of course.
The finish is a custom shellac sprayed with HVLP and a high end sealant(note: the bench is not water proof and should be stored in doors). Discoloration should be expected if you place this outdoors and exposed to the sun.
